Scrap was going from $192/ton-154/ton so we rented a good sized
forklift..had a big rolloff dumpster brought in (emptied 4 times) and
we hit it. Currently he is in Aridzona, looking at some homes on the
Colorado River, in the Lake Havasu area. His house has been paid for
for years, he owed a minimal amount on the building...so his plan is
to buy a place on the river, with a nice big hobby shop, move a bunch
of his hobby stuff (the cars, wood working equipment, mill, lathe,
welders etc) out there and then get his knees fixed.

Once he gets his shop up and running, maybe he can make some
replacement knee parts?

Ive already gotten him leg braces. They seem to help.

Its a start.

What is going to fix him properly is to have both of his knees
replaced. He has the insurance to do it with no issues. Ive been
hounding him for years to go have it done. He decided it was past
time.

Shoot, with all that equipment and experience, I'm still pretty
sure he could make himself a set of replacement knee joints.

Now, finding a surgeon who will install "home made" parts, that's
a different matter.

The braces simply kept him going until he turned 70.

Well, good. With age comes wisdom.

Even if it does seem that Age far too often travels alone. B-)
