I've finally treated myself to 14.4v combi drill from Aldi's.
Now what I'd like is a nice selection of suitably sized screws both
for metal and for wood.
I don't want a 100 of this or 100 of that, just a nice variety. Happy
to buy a specific set if I have a specific project but that's all I
seem to be able to find on the regular websites.
Any pointers please?
But isn't the drawback that if you need one screw of a certain size you
need several, and the mixed pack doesn't quite have enough, and even if
it does how do you restock it economically?
Decide on about ten sizes that span the range. Go to a specialised
fixings outlet and price up boxes of 100 or 200 of each. You might be
surprised how cheap those places can be. Not eBay though: the quality is
likely to be poor.

Trust me Murphy's law is often at play. You would need just that screw length you may not find in your pile!!
