Hello all... My 9448+ has gone 'rogue' for when we try to set it to go out the normal beep, beep sounds for about 30 seconds and then the internal sounder goes off and just keeps going but the external sounder does not sound at all. The zone 6 PA (Panic Alarm) led also lights and stays lit and all we can do is enter our access code to shut the thing down. I have the full engineers manual but I can't find anything that might help within it! The USER GUIDE tells me to 're-set the panic button' but nowhere can I discover how to do that! Maybe this is 'finger trouble'? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Richard.

Disconnect Zone 6 at the panel or replace the connection with a shorting
U loop. See what happens.

Bill

Dear Bill... Thank you indeed for your direction here! The problem is now solved but I have no idea as to what was the original cause! Zone 6 was not connected at all, the connections were open circuit and 'floating', I don't know if the board is essentially CMOS or TTL but there are quite a number of discrete devices on the pcb. If it is CMOS the o/c could possibly have floated to a logical high (1) do you think? I have done what you suggest and put a shorting link across the Zone 6 terminals and then I, once again, re-set the system to it's initial default settings i.e. code 1234 etc. by putting a s/c across the reset Molex pins with the mains and battery disconnected, re-connecting the battery and then the mains supply... et voila!! The rogue behavior had ceased :-) ...and now all appears to be well. So Bill, thanks again...

Richard.
