FWIW, there's no particular trend across brands from a recent Which?
test. Miele and Dyson seem to do consistently well, but there's only a
few percentage points between a £350 Miele and a £100 Hoover.

So it might come down to your needs - cost of bags, pets, weight, floor
coverings, bragging rights etc.
