It also depends on how much room you have.

I had a separate router table which I had to set up every time I wanted to use it. When it was up
I lost space. I added a router table extension to my table saw and bought a dedicated router
for it. It's now available at the turn of the router height adjustment knob.

I feel much more flexible now that I have a router table always within arm's reach.
