It's not just the 2+2 bit you keep trying to quote, *it's the whole
phrase*. (and in many cases people only use the first half these days,
eg,

" dave couldn't put two and two together ...."

Couldn't be any clearer. Couldn't be any more factual. Couldn't be any
more applicable to you.
