Yah and then how hard can it be to drive a train? Sure, you have to
anticipate long stops based on load but you'd think by now trivial stuff

I'm not sure the railways have even been able to eliminate the fireman
although nobody has shoveled coal for a long, long time. There are many
modern safeguards to prevent collisions and limit unsafe speeds but it
seems the budget didn't allow any of them to be installed. Par for the
