I had good luck on a base reproduced for a Globe Wernicke bookcase (pattern 297) a few years ago. I wonder if a stripped 100 year old piece can be still fumed. It seems that the tanic compounds in the wood might dissipate with age.


Speaking of age, this thread has aged 17 years since the post before yours.
