Amazon seems to think it makes pretty good $ense.

And it did for a long while but now it's reaching a point that
single-unit shipping can drive the price above what a local physical
store charges. Now Amazon is moving away from their roots and into
the brick-and-mortar space--they may succeed but I suspect it will
prove to be a blunder.
