We could make it so any seller can run the fed check from their PC.

What a loon! Identity theft waiting to happen

Aside from being silly, a security clearance would be needed to access
the data at the terminal client. An FBI full field investigation of
the person.

And why would that be? If Congress passes a law to close the private sale
loophole and provided that any gun seller can access the database to get
a yes or no answer on a purchaser, why exactly does a seller need a
security clearance? Do FFL today have a security clearance? Geeez.

Poor try. FFL has more experience than you. Terminals to access NICS
is limited and restricted.

You claimed they need a security clearance.

Tell us your experience in the matter. Standin' by. Was there a
restricted key, was there a log book entry or a restricted key form
sent to a superior? Maybe the person HAD to have a security clearance.

What exactly is the super secret intel being protected here? All
the fed check system does is come back with whether a person is on
the no-buy list because they are a felon or nut case. That's all.
The person requesting the check puts information in, it gives a
yes or no answer. So, what's so super secret? Confidential?
It's all based on PUBLIC information. There is no reason that
access to that could not be made available to anyone who's selling
a gun. Or even to anyone, for any reason, for that matter.
You have an issue with protecting and hiding felons? And mind
you, I didn't propose the idea, Gfre did, as a way to enable private
sellers to do the check without going to a FFL. Please, check your meds.
