I run a mix in my Briggs engines and never have any problem. To a 5
gallon can of gas I add:

Sta-Bil as recommended
2 ounces non-alcohol carb cleaner
2 ounces Marvel Mystery Oil

I also run Castrol Syntec 5w-50 in the crank case, and change the oil
annually.

My B&S engines outlast the equipment they are on. I have never had one
go down on me.
