It's a private (non-governmental) company. They can do whatever they
want.

I never said it was right of Facebook to do what they did. But
it's their prerogative to run their business as they see fit.

If you object, why post to Usenet? Why not send Facebook an
e-mail? Or why not persuade a few million people to dump
Facebook, and hit them in the wallet?
