You are probably right, but I'm sure they just wanted to do it fast as
possible, it was probably done on a low bid.


That reminds me of the chimney I had replaced maybe 20 years ago.


I got bids from half a dozen contractors and they were all in the $2k -
$4k range.

It seemed absurd for the size of of the job.

Finally an old timer came out and said he was the best in town "but
expensive" and he told me $1000 .


I tired as hard as I could not to smile. Then looked as shocked as I
could when I said, "That's a lot of money, but I want the best."
