Yes, they are common for cats, mainly to stop the neighbour's cat from
eating your cat's food. I've never seen the point myself. Why spend
£100 on a door to stop a 50p can of meat getting taken?


Cats learn. It's unlikely to be just one can.

I'm not concerned about the neighbor's cat, but about the raccoons that
leave a much bigger mess.


It would take a long time to save £100 of food. And why be so mean? I accept that all cats eat each other's food, just like your kids stay for dinner at their friends' houses.

In fact my cats get fed by my neighbour, and she doesn't even have a cat!
