Default Cleaning Liquid Nails off balusters

I'm taking down a half wall and replacing it with wood railing and iron balusters. Drilled holes under the railing and squirted Liquid Nails up into the holes. Inserted each iron baluster up into the hole and then dropped it straight down into the bottom hole. When i do this, there is Liquid Nail residue on the top of the baluster. They're powder coated, but heck of a time getting the residue off. Any suggestions?

You might try turpentine on a cotton rag to clean the adhesive off
before it cures. Shouldn't harm the powder coat -- IMO.
