Anyone working here legally here or getting any kind of legal income
gets some kind of "tax statement" whether it is a W-2 (salaried
workers) a statement from a broker of one of the various forms of
1099. There are lots of types, covering everything from various sorts
of labor and sales to interest on your bank account. The IRS is really
cracking down on off the books workers by going after the employer.
I expect places like Ebay to be sending 1099s soon.
