Did you check the whole fuel delivery system? If something is
restricting fuel flow anywhere it will cause a problem. I'd check the
orifice for trash plugging it or anywhere else in the gas delivery
system. I recall a screen on the input of the last propane regulator
I fiddled with and I've also seen the screen on natural gas
regulators get clogged. (?_??

I was wondering a while ago if maybe something is partially blocking the
jet ... the inlet of the reg is clean and there's no way anything is going
to get past the regulator , plus it acted the same way with a different
regulator . I'm thinking that anything that disrupts the gas flow from the
jet has an effect on the velocity of the air/gas stream ... I'll have to
figure out a way to clean the orifice and the face of the jet , going to be
fun because it's buried up in the bottom of the unit - and it's all riveted
together so there's no easy way to get at it .
