After some deliberation I decided to pick up a set of each. I considered
also a metric set, but decided for the most part I could use the
replaceable
pilot set with custom turned pilots if necessary.

Metric flathead fasteners have a different cone angle (90 degrees) as
opposed to
SAE (82 degrees). It might matter.

Counterbore. Not countersink.
