When you run a business someone is always going to feel like they've
gotten the short end of the deal.

Not at all true. The company I worked for always gave the customer a
fair deal and in the 38 years I worked there, we only gained customers
and never screwed any.

The funniest thing that happened was when a customer looked at my
worksheet, he said I had charged him too much.

He kind of ****ed me off and at that point I did not care if we lost him
so I took the bill back , crossed off all the prices ..then told him:

OK then, just fill in what you think you should pay .

He broke down and told me that he got hell from management if he signed
off on invoices over $300.

We then made an agreement. All I had to do was break up the invoices
into amounts less then $300. Then I just had to put different dates on
each one. The company I worked for did not have to give up one cent, and
I retained a now happy customer.

In the few very rare times I did something the customer was not happy
with. I tore up the bill and kept the customer.
