Default Raised Toilet

Hi

My parents are considering a new bathroom and my mother would benefit if the
toilet were to be higher. Some of the specialist firms (Dolphin) offer a spacer
that matches the footprint and design of the bowl that raises the toilet
something like 50 or 100mm.

Some of us unspecialsed D-I-Y ers are wondering why Dolphin can sell for
money what any competent person can knock up for bugger all out of a
coule of concrete blocks, some tile cement and a few tiles...

I really don't see the problem. If you have to unbolt the pan, raise it,
you have already done 99% of the hard stuff - plumbing.
The physical bit is just standing it on bricks, and making em look good
afterwards.

Why buy anything?

Is anyone aware of a toilet manufacturer that offers these as an accessory to
their toilets or a firm that supplies spacers suitable for toilets in general?

( I've seen some of the modern wall fixing toilets that would be suitable
however they are constrained by a under-floor pottery outlet pipe in a concrete
floor. )
