ACER 19" monitor model 7299SL arking in the CRT socket
It is just about anywhere inside the socket. I have removed the red wire
from the flyback and it started arcing elsewhere.
This is definetly a problem where the high voltage is way too high.
This is obviously a bad design since most monitor go into shutdown if
anything happens with high voltage too high?
Without a diagram I have ahardtime figuring out where the regulator is. I
see an IC around the power supply that is a SLA6046 which I think is
involved with the regulation (5 N-channels)
I think that somehow it the current load on the high voltage is fed back
into that IC.
I can't be certain without a diagram.
Bad design for sure,

I have this 19" monitor with this problem;
There is arking in the CRT socket ?
I have removed it from the tube and it still arks?
I have looked for shorted capacitors but I don't see any?
any help appreciated, maybe you have fixed a couple with this problem?
