Sounds like a bad coil or condensor. I had a similar problem with a
chainsaw.
Coil secondary resistance went from 5.6K at room temperature to 48K at 175
degrees F, and open circuit at greater than 190 degrees. Resistance
dropped
agfain to normal as the coil cooled to room temp. Very repeatable.
