Default time

I know what you are trying to get at, but the question is very
ambigious (non defined).

Different types of components have specific minimum and maximum
temperature and power ratings. Their life span is dependend entirely
on the quality of manufacturing (most of the time it is very good),
environmental temperature, power drive through the components,
humidity, air circulation, physical shock (banging, dropping,
mis-handling), and frequency of use, just to mention a few easy ones I
can think of.

Most consumer and industrial products, unless otherwise stated by the
manufacture, are designed to last with minimal or no repair service,
for about 5 to 7 years.

For how long do capacitors, resistors, transistors and chips work?
(what is their lifetime)
