Default Kenmore/Frigidaire/Electrolux front-load washer -- second timearound

Anyway, this time it's going to be a lot more difficult than the first

Do you have a bearing puller? Or is it time for a new unit...

The drum has metal inserts into which the outer rings of the bearings
fit, so I have to get the shaft of the basket free of the inner rings of
those bearings first -- and one bearing is inserted from the outside,
the other from the inside. So no way to use a bearing puller.

If by "new unit" you mean new drum/basket assembly (a few hundred $$),
then that would be a waste of money. New washer? Maybe, if push comes to
shove.
