You should get a proper rated contact cleaner. See your local electronics
parts supplier for a recommendation. There are a number of these on the
market. We use Neutrol. We only use it if there is a problem. Avoid

getting
this on the general components, or on the circuit traces. All liquids,
material, and or cleaners have some reactive properties, and when covering
sensitive circuits, it may change some characteristics.

It's a good idea to blow it out with compressed air once you spray the
cleaner on, that helps get residue out of nooks and crannies.

thanks for the reply!
i didn't mention that on the can of the contact cleaner its uses include memory
disks, integrated circuits, printed circuits -- could i assume that this is
*safe* to spray into the slots / mem banks???
(it doesn't give any concentration of the *ingredients* nor state that it has
other products in it)
(i'll use the compressed air thanks for the advice!)
sincerely
