Default Returning to that Scope SMPS Problem...

did you disconnect everything frmo the secondary side and fire up the primary side and see if the resistor still get hot.

if not, you have a fault on one of the secondaries, reconnect them one by one.

if it still gets hot, you have a fault on the pri side or a bad xformer perhaps in the form of a shorted winding. Use yopur 2v drive on the pri to try to isolate a shorted winding,,,how??? I'm not sure. See if there is any winding that when you intentionsally short it, nothing much happens.
