I never had any trouble with it, and I supported SCSI based Sun stuff
for many years. Perhaps because it was all single vendor?
Same here, used it for years, and if the termination was "correct" it
was rare to get a problem. Part of the difficulty was "not quite
correct" termination... say where you had a host adaptor with hard wired
termination at one end of the bus, and then both internal and external
connections. Then you ended up with passive termination not quite at the
end of the bus as seen by an external device. (also some cables were
less good than others)
