Default NAD 7225PE Stereo Receiver - FM Sound Died

First check to see if there are proper voltages in the front end. Since you
have static, I would suspect that the RF section is working, but the local
oscillator is most likely not working.

In various types of receivers I have had it go defective, more so than
support components. In the older receivers, it is a transistor. After
replacement, if defective, the front end alignment will have to be re-done.

My trusty NAD 7225PE receiver recently ran into problems. While listening
to an FM station, and for no apparent reason, I ended up with static. I
tried tuning several different stations, with no luck; all static. All
other sources (i.e. CD and AM) work fine. Interestingly, I selected FM
today, and got a few minutes of radio before it went back to static. Let it
set for 45-60 min, selected FM and it worked again for a while.

I am guessing a dried out capacitor somewhere between the FM antenna in and
the audio source selector. Anyone seen (heard) this problem before? Any
ideas on how to trace this down quickly? Or is it time to think about a new
receiver?

Thanks!!

Don
