We like to be facetious but now you got me thinking.

I saw Christmas items on sale for 50% off a few days before Christmas.

If you buy your tree just before Christmas there should be a big
discount since the tree won't last til next.

I've seen whole lots of free trees on Xmas eve.

I was at a friend's in NYC and she lives a busy life, and didn't get
around to decorating her tree until the 26th or maybe it was later.
She had 3 or 4 people over.

She also doesn't have much money and it was a small tree, not too good
looking. At the same time there was a beautiful, bigger tree, but
still short enough for the 8 or 10 foot ceilings she had, right ouside
on the sidewalk, already thrown away, that I suggested she might want
instead. Not surprisingly, she didn't want it, but at least I ddn't
seem to hurt her feelings.
