_Burglary suspect hides in Florida lake, where gator eats him_

"A suspected burglar jumped in a Florida lake apparently hiding from
law enforcement before an 11-foot alligator killed him, investigators
said Monday. His hand and foot reportedly turned up inside the
animal's stomach.

Brevard County Sheriff's Maj. Tod Goodyear says 22-year-old Matthew
Riggins told his girlfriend he would be in Barefoot Bay to commit
burglaries with another suspect. Authorities received calls Nov. 13
about two suspicious men in black walking behind homes and
investigated. Riggins was reported missing the next day."

He deserves what is due....

Yeah, but they killed the gator too. He was just doing how gators do.

I have an internet friend who lives *right* next to a golf course, and
there are alligators in the water hazards of the golf course, one only
20 or 30 feet from her house. (with no road or street in between)

She's in her 60's and slowly dying of something I don't know, but it's
serious. For some time she's too sick to fly in a plane. She and her
husband moved to Florida to be near a kid and spouse and a now 3-year
old granddaughter, who would be dropped off when the parents go to
work,, but they have to lock her in the house to keep her away from
the alligators. It's ridiculous.

The town is famous from the space age, Cocoa Beach or Titusville.
