With my hearing loss any group of people talking can sound like a cackle
of hens.


When I was about fifteen, a bunch of kids were in
the car and Mom's driving. I tried several times
to interrupt, can't remember what was the message.
Finally, in a conversational voice I said "free
beer." Instantly there was dead silence, and I
made my announcement. They all wanted to know what
the hell happened back there.
