When I'm in the kitchen reading the news paper,
Mom will walk into the room, and there is some
kind of sound. I have to mentally replay what
I just heard, my brain was 99% reading the paper
and 1% listening. I usually ask Mom to interrupt,
wait several seconds, and make sure I'm looking
directly at her before she speakes. She never once
has.
