Last time I needed some acetone I just bought nail varnish remover from
Superdrug. May not be 100% pure but it dissolved whatever it was I
wanted gone.

But I agree it could well dissolve the lenses too.


My neighbour was, for some reason, throwing out nail varnish remover, so of
course I took it in case it came in useful. It has some sort of
'conditioner' in it, so for some uses it would need cleaning off; for other
purposes it might be useless.
