I'm also looking for a solid surface for people to walk on as they get
in or out of a vehicle. The dirt/grass is better then sand or gravel
since it doesn't give, it just looks bad. It also has to stand up to a
snow blower.

Would crushed granite work, compacted solid in layers. Applied, wet,
then packed - repeat? You can drive cars on it, too.

DG with resin sounds interesting. I'll have to see if I can get just
a couple of cubic yards which is all I need.

Companies that install artificial / synthetic turf or a nursery would
be places to look for it. Delivery will cost more unless you can haul
it yourself. They will most likely load a trailer for you with a
bobcat. Hopefully you can find the best color for aesthetic appeal.
