Actually it's exceedingly common for a distraught and depressed parent
to take their life and their kids along with them. Driving into a
lake seems to be a common choice of methods since you can take out the
whole family with one sudden impulsive move. Drowning is ranked as
10th most common method of suicide. First, of course, is gunshot.
