Yes. But if I don't "reappear", they've lost track of me (my identity)
unless I have provided them with a persistent credential.

E.g., I track the occupants in this house. But, I (machine) don't
know who they are other than "occupant 1", "occupant 2", etc.
I could have the machine address me as "Benevolent Overlord",
"Tyranical Despot", or any other name and it wouldn't be any wiser!

There is a lot of facial recognition software out there even though
people don't talk about it much.
