state living off the government and had never had a job. Why should
they? It has nothing to do with the color of their skin, it has to do
with the lack of content of their character

Addiction is also a big player. A close family member was nine years
old when WW II ended and observes that, in the ruins of Europe where
people were starving, coffee and cigarettes were among the most
sought-after commodities.
