I don't know why but wooden door always nailed down strips vs. steel
clad foam core insulated doors have channels one can slide the strip
in/out easily.
Probably harder to machine wood into a slot,
so the weather strip slides in.
Aluminum can be extruded, in lengths to fit.
And screwed to the bottom of a wooden door.
