1/2" cable will forge out to about 1" in width and no more than 3/16
thick..so its simply not massive enough to make anything other than a
sword cane out of...is my estimate.

Remember..that cable contains a lot..lot of air. Now if you were using
3/4" 19x11 cable...might work out for something one could use.
