Default rca ptk195ac

I have a PTK195 from 1996 that had the convergance PSU failure and I got
away with replacing just the big ole STK on the board. Been running fine
about three months now. Real easy and real cheap.

Should I have replaced the entire PSU? Are other components soon to fail?

Thanks,
-Steve

Needs the convergence SMPS, they're dropping like flies.RCA has them on
national backorder but there is one place you can still get them. I forget

the
name, but to my knowledge, from my parts guy, they had 60 in stock. I

don't
think they will last too long.

I uthink/u the part number is 250686 for the new and improved SMPS,

and it
is pretty different than the old one. There is no STK730, there is now an

FET
and discreet circuitry. The place that has them is in Columbus and they

got a
name like, well when you read it you want to ask, is that a typo ? They

charge
a few dollars more than stock net, but they have them and they work.
