Does anyon know if any building reg specifying that the female end of a
coupler must point backwards (uphill, towards the flow source), and the
male end of the coupler must point forward (downhill, in the direction
of
the flow)? I have a situation where it would be much more convenient to
have one coupling the other way round.

TIA
Jim

I have had contractors change a full underground line of old fashioned
fireclay spigots and faucets laid the wrong way around but it may not
matter depending on what the joint seal is ......if you look at the
likes of hepsleve or supersleve the couplers are both ways with a good
seal ...but you are probably talking about plumbing .....

sorry just read the subject ........what sort of pipe is it ? .....

not sure what 'the female end of a coupler must point backwards' means
.....

is it grey 4 inch plastic plumbing pipe with a rubber ring seal ? .......?
