I have had contractors change a full underground line of old fashioned
fireclay spigots and faucets laid the wrong way around but it may not
matter depending on what the joint seal is ......if you look at the likes
of hepsleve or supersleve the couplers are both ways with a good seal
...but you are probably talking about plumbing .....
