I'm not sure it will be a problem. I changed from company to private
car insurance, and, being able to prove my expired no claims, most
companies offered a huge 'introductory' discount. Similarly, I switched
from specialist 'classic car' insurance to ordinary insurance and again
was offered substantial discounts, even though I had no formal ongoing
no claims discount.

Best advice is phone a few companies, explain the position and ask what
they offer.
