Default Old PCB's

If you have an old PCB and it's heading for the bin.. then STOP !!

The more components it has, the better. Just hold it horizontal, and

up at
eye level.. about 6 inches fromyour eyes.

Hey Presto.. your very own miniature spage age city.

How the hours fly by.

Does anyone else have ingenious uses for old bits n bobs?

Yes I do.

The underside of a PCB makes for a very good surface to rub down the
corns and bunions on my feet.

Also, putting mains voltage across some of the components (especially
the electolytic capacitors) and you have your very own indoor fire-works
display! (Dont try this at home kids...)

Fans, such as those used in microwaves make very good egg-whisks.

Constantin wire, used in wire-wound resistors (usually high wattage
types) can be used to make snares to catch furry animals such as rabbits
and squirrels in your local woods. The advantage is that as well as
trapping these animals, you can eat them as well.

Old LEDs can be used to make kids jewelery. Cut off the legs, drill a
small hole (1mm) through the base and thread the 'beads', preferably
with a bit of constantin wire (see above). Be careful that the little
ones don't take the new choker you have created too literally....

Coils such as those from mains powered motors make useful corporal
punishment tools (though this may be illegal in some areas). Just ensure
the victim, I mean subject, is connected to the terminals, then using a
9v battery quickly connect and disconnect the battery across these
terminals. Shocking.

I have many more uses for scrap electronics, but due to the size limit
on these posts I am unable to.
