Yes, I know this is not a computer group, but the old OS groups are pretty much dead and searching online is not getting much....

FYI, this particular computer uses proprietary software programs in an industrial application and cannot be upgraded past Win 2000.

What is the recommended procedure for setting the windows time (bottom right desktop) when the US goes from standard to daylight savings time in March?

Should I change the Windows clock (bottom right corner)? Any times or settings to change in IE6 or OE6? Win2000 and IE6 are both up to "date" as much as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Versions:
OE 6.00.2800.2000
IE 6.0,2800.1106
Win 2000 Prof Version 5.0 Build 2195 SP4

It will probably update itself the first Sunday in April (the old DST
start date). You can uncheck the auto DST box and then change the
time yourself when appropriate.

All, thanks for the tips. Win2000 does automatically update in April. Waiting for that is what I have been doing every year.

I'm leaning more and more toward Apple, Linux - anything but Microsoft. Just bought an 8.1 laptop (the only reason was so that I could replace my printer -- all new printers won't work with 2000 - and that include Epson, Brother, etc. -- none of them have 2000 drivers).

The most maddening thing to have to buy a computer in order to print files from an old machine. 8.1 is supposed to be better than 8.0, but if that's the case, I pity the fool who bought 8.0. 2-3 click tasks on 2000 take both hands and a road map. And, holy smokes, the cursor starts and stops across the screen. And the HP laptop was loaded down with pester-ware. McAffie pops up every 10 minutes with a "warning" to purchase something.

I'm sure someone out there loves 8.1, and my hat's off to you.

My plan is to load it down with software and sail it out on ebay.
