Well..its a lot better than that!
but they made a commercial decision to not manufacture any more fuel
rods for it so when the current stock is done, that's it for Wylfa...and
they have served us well, those Magnox reactors. a lot of years of safe
power.
The plan is to mothball for many years after pulling the fuel rods out
till they are cool enough to chop up without special precautions.
oh and it looks like Wylfa will be early into the next generation
nuclear power with a pair of Hitachi ABWRs looking pretty definite, too
