Old Minolta lenses work very nicely with Sony Alpha digital cameras.
The adapters are available from several sources.

And of course, any of the Maxxum lenses will work too. There's some good
ones that can be had dirt cheap compared to anything current. That's why
my brother got me into Sony cameras (besides being a dedicated Minolta
shooter for decades). Not many other brands will adapt to the Sony, but
with an M42 adapter, there's a fair number of good manual lenses that
can be had cheap.

The A100 is a decent starter camera, and can be had pretty cheap if one
is patient. Here's a listing of sold A100's on eBay for a good idea of
prices.
