Your original post asked about burls....and as you know lots of trees are
available in the Denver area, but very few burls. One way to get large
pieces of burl is to come to the Symposium that is held in Loveland in
Sept or Oct each year. There are some vendors that come and have large
chunks of burl to sell. Another thing would be to join the RMWT or FRWT
and meet up with other turners who have different suppliers. I like to
turn burls myself, and rarely get anything locally. If you get lucky you
might find a russian olive burl!
