Why does the condensate trap have a barrier in the middle and a blacking
plug on the otherside of the barrier?
It's designed to siphon intermittent when full rather than trickle
continuously. Possibly to reduce chance of freezing.
I don't believe that design will result in syphonic action.
On what basis? Looks like a classic siphon to me.
The purpose of the trap is to avoid the passing of flue gasses into the drain.
That makes sense.
