the neighborhood 30-40 unique blends across the country.

It's an attempt to satisfy the politicians that have been paid
for by the likes of ADM, Cargill, etc, as well as attempting
to reduce emissions pollution such as here in CA.

There are less than 6-8 refineries qualified to blend gasoline
for CA emission standards.

That's a hell of a stranglehold to have over almost 40 million
people which is what exists in CA.
